Register for ChickTech's Virtual Amazing and Fun STEM Program by October 17th
Welcome to ChickTech: High School 2020/2021!
Baker Charter School students — you have been invited to participate in a year-long virtual, tech program for high school girls. Read the below message from our ChickTech leaders to get all the awesome details!
ChickTech’s program will offer hands-on workshops and group mentorship opportunities with industry professionals, but this year they will be in a virtual space on a national scale! The program begins with an introduction to the virtual space event on October 24th, followed by monthly mentorship and hands-on, technical workshops from November-June, and the year will culminate in a year-end conference.
You will have the opportunity to self-select into monthly workshops and group mentorship opportunities which will follow a monthly STEAM theme. The aim is to create a fun, positive learning experience to build confidence in your technical abilities, provide positive role models, and help you create meaningful connections with young women nationally.
If you miss a workshop or mentorship THAT'S OKAY because we will have a virtual library of recorded content where you can catch up and practice your skills in your own time. We are here to help you succeed!
Why should you participate?
You’ll get to create cool, unique projects, like a website, video game, or robot throughout the year!
You’ll have chances to be entered to win prizes based on your virtual participation.
You’ll have the opportunity to continue learning about technology and STEM careers and connect with mentors at monthly events.
You’ll meet awesome professionals from STEM industries. Have questions about what to do after high school? Bring them!
You will get to participate in the year-end conference, get connected to careers, industry professionals, and create hands-on STEM projects.
Show off what you learned at the Tech Show at the end of the year. Invite your family and friends, and meet professionals from all over the country!
Most importantly, you will get the chance to experience it all with a group of other young women!
